Mthatha lies on the main road between Durban, 450 km (280 miles) to the north-east, and East London, 215 km (134 miles) to the southwest. Mthatha also has a small airport. Is a few minutes drive from shopping facilities, restaurants and the famous Nelson Mandela Museum. The Mthatha Bowling club is directly opposite the lodge and the Mthatha Country offering Golf, tennis and squash, is a minutes drive away. The golf course is a fairly forgiving one but still providing a fair challenge to the lower handicap golfer. Fly fishing for trout is available at Mabeleni Forest Lake and adjacent rivers and striking mountain forests are nearby.
