General

Whether you’re just passing through Kokstad or planning a break in the country. Peacehaven Guest House is the perfect getaway. The majestic mountains which surround Peacehaven Guest House provide a breathtaking backdrop to the scenic walks, horse trails, trout fishing and bird watching available in the area. Delicious country meals are served in the cozy dining room or on the verandah overlooking a picturesque “English Garden”. The sunny bedrooms are spacious and comfortable, whilst in the lounge, a roaring fire and soft chairs are irresistible when the weather turns cold. Peacehaven Guest House has five en-suite bedrooms, three are double and two are furnished with twin beds. Two of the rooms are situated in the garden with separate entrances. All rooms are tastefully decorated and equipped with heaters, tea and coffee facilities, DStv and mini bar fridges. Peacehaven is situated in East Griqualand at the tip of the Southern Drakensberg and central to Pietermaritzburg, Durban and Umtata, located 5km off the N2. Peacehaven is a cozy and intimate guest house with a magnificent view of Mount Currie offering a warm welcome.

The little town of Kokstad sits on the boundary between KwaZulu Natal and the Eastern Cape, nestled in the heart of East Griqualand. Kokstad lies in the shadow of Mount Currie on the outer slopes of the Drakensberg. The area is popular for its many rivers and dams that provide ample opportunity for trout fishing, and there are no fewer than three reserves, Mount Currie, Wilfred Bauer and the Mountain Lake Nature Reserve, a small reserve peppered with cattle tracks and little paths that provide wonderful walks, as well as over 220 species of bird for bird lovers. Crystal Dam provides boating and angling opportunities. The Crystal Spring Dam is fed by the pure water of Crystal Spring.
