Activities

Our highly skilled Guides will accompany guests in the morning and early evening in open 4x4 game drive vehicles.  Their extensive knowledge and training ensures that your game experience will be unforgettable, exciting and informative.  This private reserve is known for its close encounters with a vast variety of game including the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino).  In addition, all game drives on the reserve coordinate their game viewing activities which ensure the best of sightings. Halfway through the early evening game drive there's a stop for sundowners and snacks.

Depending on their age, young children will join in open game drive vehicles for safety reasons.

General

Tshukudu Private Game Reserve is home to 2 Safari Lodges and borders the world renowned Greater Kruger National Park.  The perfect combination of comfort and luxury in the heart of Big 5 territory.

The 3800 ha Private Reserve has magnificent views of the majestic Drakensberg Mountains and offers close encounters with nature’s fiercest predators as well as the more gentle species and bird life.

Tshukudu Game Lodge is a 4 star, full board safari lodge, where guests are accommodated in 17 individually decorated chalets.

Tshukudu Marula Camp is a 3 star self-catering camp and has 2 luxury, African style safari tents with en-suite bathrooms, 4 thatched cottages and 1 detached family unit. For those guests who would like to take a break from self-catering or just want the opportunity to dine in style, breakfast and dinner as well as light lunches can be pre-booked with Main Lodge Reception at an additional charge.

Get back to nature by joining us on one of our adventurous and safe activities.  The most popular are definitely the early morning or late afternoon game drives.  There are also a multitude of activities on offer in the Hoedspruit area.

Tshukudu, being a Big 5 Game Reserve, provides the opportunity to spot a vast range of wild animals such as Bushbuck, Buffalo, Cheetah, Crocodile, Duiker, Elephant, Eland, Giraffe, Hippo, Impala, Jackal, Kudu, Lion, Leopard, Steenbuck, White Rhino, Waterbuck, Wildebeest and Zebra as well as many other species.  Not to mention the abundant flora and birdlife.

Cancellation / Prepayment

·     50% deposit is required within 48 hours to reserve your booking.

·     Balance is due 1 (one) month prior to arrival in order to confirm your booking.

Additional Deposit Fees will be levied on all cash deposit payments and foreign exchange transfers.

All cancellations must be sent in writing to bookings@tshukudulodge.co.za via electronic mail.

There will be a non-refundable booking fee of 10% irrespective of the date of the cancellation.
0-14 days prior to arrival: full deposit retained
14-30 days prior to arrival: 75% of deposit retained
30-60 days prior to arrival: 50% of deposit retained
60-120 days prior to arrival: 25% of deposit retained

Policy

Please make use of the on-line booking system or alternatively contact us in writing via e-mail.

·  All stay over guests will be required to provide positive ID when checking in and a copy of the ID document / passport / birth certificate will be made for record purposes. (Please ensure that you have the necessary documents with you on arrival.)

·  All guests will be required to sign an indemnity form on arrival.

·  Quoted in Rand (ZAR), subject to change and inclusive of Value Added Tax (VAT) at 15%

·  Bank charges will be levied on cash deposit payments & Foreign transfers.

·  A once off Conservation Levy per person will be added to all confirmed bookings.

·  Children 4 - 12 yrs pay ½ price of the adult rate quoted.

·  The child rate only applies to children under the age of 12 years when sharing with adults.

·  Children under the age of 12 years are permitted on activities at the sole discretion of the Guide.

·  No pets are allowed.

·  All guests will be required to settle their accounts for extras, telephone calls, beverages, mini-bar consumables, laundry, etc. on departure. This can be done by credit card or local currency notes.

·  We recommend that all guests have a comprehensive travel insurance to cover injury, medical costs, loss or damage to personal belongings and cancellation.
