Nestled on the banks of the Atlantic Ocean, Gonana Guesthouse is located on the beach, boasting unrestricted views of the ocean.  Paternoster is one of the oldest fisherman’s villages and is well known for its warm, generous and hospitable people, pristine beaches and West Coast charm. The house consists of eight luxury, en-suite guest rooms, of which four are sea facing.  A spacious Triple room and additionally, a Studio with kitchenette and balcony overlooking the green belt & ocean. Most rooms have their own patio outside the room or a balcony. The property has a saltwater pool & deck for guests to enjoy on those hot summer days.

We offer our famous Scandinavian breakfast buffet, which are presented with local produce that guests can enjoy every morning, complimented by the sights & sounds overlooking the ocean some 20 metres away.

Our landscaped gardens contain indigenous plantings which attract an abundance of birds and bees and in particular a succulent – namely “Spekboom”- which helps fight air pollution.  It acts as a carbon sponge, absorbing carbon from the atmosphere and turning it into plant matter.

We have put major efforts in place to be sustainable with all electricity and hot water from solar power; greywater recycling system; rainwater collection tanks; water-saving showers as well as a doing daily recycling, which makes this guest house almost self-sufficient  Our bathrooms offer locally sourced, handwoven towels and beds boast blankets from the Barrydale Weavers as well as locally produced Simply Bee organic amenity products.
