Knysna was founded in 1804 by George Rex, who was rumoured to have been the illegitimate son of King George III and now Rexford Manor has been renovated to create a space that is fit for a king.

En-suite private rooms, walk-in wardrobe, fridge, tea/coffee station, free Wi-Fi internet access and satellite TV with channels covering movies and sports with others of general interest.

Rexford Manor provides seasonally appropriate bedding and monogrammed bath towels, gowns and slippers. Swimming towels are available from Nico, the Manager.

Shared areas include a sparkling blue pool, sun deck, lounges and the dining room. At the top of the stairs is the library and the upstairs balcony on which to relax and enjoy the view.

The Honeymoon Suite is a sensory delight from the plush carpets underfoot to the opulently furnished, open-plan bathroom and the grandeur of the four poster, king size bed. This room is the embodiment of a private, peaceful retreat for newly weds (or re-newly weds) to enjoy some alone time in the seclusion of this sanctuary.

The King bedroom leads off the library offering magnificent views of the town and lagoon. The beds can be configured as two singles or a king size double with a relaxing day bed on which to lie back and read or simply drop off into a rejuvenating siesta. The King bedroom has an en suite bathroom with shower and a walk in wardrobe.

The Queen bedroom, with a queen size bed, leads off the opposite side of the library and offers the same stunning views as the King. The en suite bathroom and walk in wardrobe are a mirror image of the King. The library can, by arrangement, be closed off at night to form ideal accommodation for a family of four.

Downstairs, off the reception is the Princess bedroom. This room is a delight from the moment you enter. The queen size bed looks out through double doors which open onto a romantic private balcony on the edge of the pool. It too has a walk in wardrobe and a bathroom with shower and has views over the surrounding area.

Included in the daily rate is a delicious Continental and Hot breakfast.
